Need help fast? Email support@rotacell.com and tell us what you were trying to do, what happened instead, and your device (e.g. iPhone 15, iOS 26). Screenshots help a lot.
My rota isn't importing or scanning correctly+
Make sure the printed rota or photo is well-lit and the shift codes are clearly visible before scanning. If a code isn't recognised, you can always add or correct a shift manually afterwards. If scans are consistently wrong, email us a description of the format (or a sample, with any personal details blacked out) and we'll take a look.
A notification or reminder didn't arrive+
Check iOS Settings → Notifications → RotaCell is allowed to notify you, and that Focus modes aren't silencing it. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device, so they also depend on the app having been opened recently enough for iOS to keep those schedules fresh.
My pay, tax, or leave numbers look wrong+
Double check your pay rate, premiums, and contracted hours under each job's settings — these drive every calculation. Tax estimates are a plain-English guide based on public reference bands, not formal tax advice. If the maths itself looks off rather than the inputs, email us the numbers you expected vs. what you saw.
I turned on Cloud Backup — how do I restore it on a new phone?+
Sign in to the same Apple ID/iCloud account on the new device, install RotaCell, and open Settings → Data & Backup → Restore from iCloud. Your rota, jobs, and settings are stored in your own iCloud account, not on a RotaCell server — see our Privacy Policy for details.
The Apple Watch app isn't showing my shifts+
Make sure the Watch is paired and unlocked, then open the RotaCell Watch app once to trigger a sync — shift data passes directly between your iPhone and Watch. If it still doesn't appear, try closing and reopening the Watch app.
I found a bug or have a feature idea+
We read every email. Send us a description (and screenshots or screen recordings if it's visual) at support@rotacell.com — for bugs, the more specific the steps to reproduce, the faster we can fix it.
I want my data deleted+
RotaCell has no server-side account, so deleting the app removes its on-device data, and deleting a Cloud Backup from Settings → Data & Backup (or from your iCloud Drive) removes the iCloud copy. There's no separate server copy to delete. See Privacy Policy §9 for the full breakdown.
